The Roman holiday of Veneralia is believed to have been started. Celebrated to honor Venus Verticordia ("Venus the changer of hearts"), Veneralia is created in response to advice from a Sibylline oracle near the end of the Punic Wars.

According to the oracle, Rome is the target of the gods' displeasure because of sexual immorality among the people.

A statute of Venus Verticordia is created to remind Romans of all classes of the importance of upholding traditional Roman sexual morals and practices. On Veneralia of every year, Romans go to Venus Verticordia to ask for assistance in love, marriage, and related matters.
