Pope Pius XI has The Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office (formerly known as the Inquisition) place Alfred Rosenberg's book Mythus des 20. Jahrhunderts (Myth of the 20th Century) on the Vatican's Index of Forbidden Books.

Intended as a sequel to Houston Stewart Chamberlain's book The Foundations of the Nineteenth Century, it is the most influential Nazi text after Hitler's Mein Kampf. In it Rosenberg makes an argument for a racial theory of culture, according to which the Aryan race has produced nothing but good while the Jewish race has produced nothing good.
