The American Bar Association adopts the Uniform Abortion Act, a resolution which advocates allowing abortion on demand at any point during the first twenty weeks of pregnancy. It also advocates uniform laws on abortion across the country. This follows the recent Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade that women have a protected privacy right to get an abortion.
