Crusaders, mostly Franks and Venetians, begin a siege of Tyre. The first siege of Tyre in 1111 failed, but this one will succeed and Tyre will become one of the most important cities in the Christian Crusaders' Kingdom of Jerusalem. Tyre will even receive its own archbishop. Muslims will not retake final control of Tyre until 1291.
