Timeline of History

History Topics

King Norodom Sihanouk, constitutional monarch of Cambodia, declares that he thought his country should legalize same-sex marriage. This is not a popular or common viewpoint in Cambodia and while King Norodom Sihanouk is generally revered by his people, he has no executive or legislative powers.

Sihanouk says he reached this conclusion after watching footage of same-sex couples marry in San Francisco. He also stated that transvestites should be well-treated in Cambodia.
