Pope Julius II ends the interdict against Venice, lifting the excommunication which he had imposed upon the population the previous years. Julius II had excommunicated the republic of Venice because of their refusal to submit to his authority. Pope Julius II had even gone so far as to put on full armor and personally lead the papal armies against Venice.
