Joan of Arc is born in Domrémy, France. Also known as 'The Maid of Orléans,' Joan of Arc has become both a secular heroine of France and a saint in the Roman Catholic Church. Joan of Arc is born a peasant in France, but believes she receives a divine call to fight on behalf of France against the English.

Joan of Arc's claims will be taken seriously enough for her to be given battlefield command which she uses to great effectiveness, achieving several important victories during the Hundred Years' War and helping pave the way for the coronation of Charles VII.

She becomes a thorn in the side of the English who, upon capturing her, railroad her with an unfair trail and have her burned at the stake as a heretic.
