A conference of German bishops decides to inform the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs that they cannot recommend to Catholic parents that they send their children to join the Hitler Youth.

This is a rare instance of Catholic leaders refusing to accommodate the Nazi regime, although they do not go so far as to say that they will recommend to Catholic parents that they not send their children to join the Hitler Youth.
