Wilhelm Frick, a long-time supporter of Adolf Hitler, becomes the minister of the Interior and of Education for Thuringia. Frick is first member of the Nazi Party to be appointed a minister in a state government.

Frick later becomes Reich Minister of the Interior and will responsible for drafting many of the repressive Nazi laws, including the Enabling Act which gives Hitler absolute power and, later, the Nuremberg race laws which deprive Jews of their civil rights. Until 1936 he serves as chief of all Germany police forces.
