Christians commemorate the conversion of St. Paul. Based upon references in his surviving letters, scholars date Paul's conversion between 31-36. Paul himself doesn't explain the details in his letters - all he says is that he 'saw' Jesus.

A more complete story is recounted in the Acts of the Apostles. According to the tale, Paul is traveling to Damascus when he suddenly encounters a bright light, sees Jesus, and becomes blind.
