The Catholic League is disbanded, leading to the end of the French Wars of Religion between Roman Catholics and Huguenots. The exact boundaries of the French Wars of Religion are disputed by scholars, but they last around thirty years and create significant costs in money, resources, and lives.

In the end the French Protestants, or Huguenots, are granted civil rights but continue to be treated worse than Catholics. The French Wars of Religion also greatly weaken an already fragile monarchy.
