Catholic and Lutheran theologians meet in Worms, Germany, to discuss their differences as well as the challenges posed by the radical wing of the Reformation, known as the Anabaptists.

The theologians will continue meeting for almost a month, after which the strictest Lutherans give up and leave.

Catholic theologians will continue meeting for a few days with the Protestants who remain, but the discussions go nowhere.
