Urban VII is elected pope, but he will die of malaria in Rome just thirteen days after his election and even before he can be consecrated. This will make Pope Urban VII the shortest-lived pope in the history of the Catholic Church.

The other bit of trivia that Pope Urban VII will be known for is creating the world's first public smoking ban.

During his brief reign as pope, Urban VII will threaten to excommunicate anyone who "took tobacco in the porchway of or inside a church, whether it be by chewing it, smoking it with a pipe or sniffing it in powdered form through the nose."
