Speaking from Berlin, Adolf Hitler issues an appeal to the German people for their support against other nations. In it, Hitler asserts that God will stand by them and help them defend Germany.

According to Hitler:

"If our Volk fulfills its highest duty in this respect, then the Lord Almighty will stand by. He has always bestowed His blessings on him who was determined to help himself! The laws necessary for the defense and security of the Reich are being decreed, the men responsible for their implementation and compliance with them are being appointed. I myself go to the front on this day."

The format and wording of this appeal are very similar what were used in the appeal of William II "to the German Volk" at the outbreak of World War I, on August 6, 1914.
