Hitler Appeals for Peace With Britain & France

Adolf Hitler, 1939

Adolf Hitler gives a speech in the now-conquered Danzig in which he appeals to Britain and France for peace. He hopes that God will bring them to understand that he has no designs on them and so they should leave him alone to govern territory which rightfully belongs to Germany.

According to Hitler:

"We have but one desire: that the God Almighty who has now bestowed His blessings on our weapons might enlighten the other peoples, that He might impart to them insight into how senseless this war, this struggle of the peoples, will be.

May He induce them to contemplate the blessings of a peace they abandoned merely because a handful of infernal warmongers and war profiteers sought to drive the peoples into a war."
