Evangelical-Lutheran Churches Support Requiring Jews Wear Star of David in Public Hot

The Evangelical-Lutheran churches of Sachsen, Hessen, Mecklenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Anhalt, Thüringen, and Lübeck issue a joint statement supporting the requirement of Jews to wear a yellow Star of David on outside of their clothing when in public.

The official position of these Christian churches is:

"As members of the German community, the undersigned evangelical regional churches and church leaders stand at the front of this historical defensive fight which, among other things, has required the police order for marking the Jews as born enemies of both the Reich and the entire world.

Just as Martin Luther learned after bitter experiences, it is necessary to take the severest actions against the Jews and remove them from German land.

From the crucifixion of Christ down to the present day, the Jews have fought against, misused, or falsified Christianity for the sake of their own goals.

Christian baptism changes nothing about the racial character, national affiliation, or biological nature of a Jew."
